On Thursday, October 6th the 4th National and International Meeting of Contener Foundation took place at the facilities generously offered by Fundación Navarro Viola, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its main theme was “Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Integration of the Patient”.
The Meeting became the best place to celebrate the World Mental Health Day, an Education Campaign of the World Federation for Mental Health – WFMH, whose main theme this year is “Mental and Physical Health Across the Life Span”.
This Meeting was supported and attended by about 120 domestic and foreign Governmental Organizations (GOs) and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

After the above mentioned institutions were thanked for their support, the Secretary General of the WFMH, Preston Garrison, made a presentation of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH).

Afterwards, the immediate Past President of the WFMH, Patt Franciosi, explained to the audience the meaning and importance of the Celebration of the World Mental Health Day, its history and the development of this year’s Main Theme.

Later on, the “2005 Award to the Best Institutional Production in the Field of Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Integration of the Patient” was given.

Subsequently, the announcement of the 2005 Subsidies for the Institutions Benefited within the Program “Contener in Community Action” was made.

To finish this first part, the President of Contener Foundation reported on the actions performed by the Foundation.

After a brief break, the attendants participated of a rich debate on the following topics:
- Mental and Physical Health Across the Life Span
- Solidarity actions – Advancements and Difficulties
- The Role of State and Governmental Spheres
- The Role of the Mass Media: Lights and Shadows
Finally, with a feeling of great satisfaction and mutual gratitude, the enrichening 4th National and International Meeting of Contener Foundation and the Celebration of the World Mental Health Day were closed.
